Lisa (Wainwright) Davis, the founder and owner of Voyager Insurance, has been part of the insurance industry since 2002. She proudly followed in the footsteps of her father, Ed Wainwright, and brother, Stephen Wainwright, the former owners of Gowen & Wainwright Agency and Wainwright Insurance Services, with multiple offices throughout New Hampshire.
In January 2008, after the Wainwright agencies were sold to Cross Financial Insurance, Lisa began exploring the possibility of starting her own agency. She reached out to several of the insurance carriers previously represented by Gowen & Wainwright to ask, “If I were to start my own agency, would you be willing to partner with me?”
While some said no, four companies said YES—and with that, Voyager Insurance was born on February 17, 2008. Just weeks later, on April 1st, 2008, Voyager wrote its first policy.
Today, Voyager Insurance has grown into a thriving, community-focused agency, proudly rooted in the heart of Portsmouth, New Hampshire.

While Lisa grew up playing golf (as one does in the Wainwright family), these days her swing is more likely to be at spreadsheets as you won’t find her on the course–unless it’s after hours, of course.
